Our ovariohysterectomy and castration packages include:

Intravenous fluids: intravenous fluids help to keep your pet hydrated during surgery and aid in recovery. Fluids also help to regulate blood pressure while the pet is under anesthesia. In addition, whenever an intravenous catheter is administered it acts as a “life port.” If there is ever and emergency, the veterinarian will be able to quickly administer medications.

Although certain other services may be required for senior patients (6 years of age or older), we also highly recommend the following electrive services for all surgical patients.

Preanesthetic bloodwork
Our veterinarians highly recommend blood work to check the functions of major organs. In additions, bloodwork rules out hidden infections and checks for adequate blood clotting.

Pain Medication
Our veterinarians usually send patients home with oral pain medication for about 5-7days.

Sedatives
For overly active patients out veterinarians may prescribe oral sedation to help with keeping your pet calm for a better recovery.

All of our surgeries are preformed in a sterile surgical suite. The veterinarians and surgical team wear sterile caps, gowns and gloves. And our patients are all covered with full surgical drapes to protectsurgical sites during the procedure. By using the safest anesthetic product, Isoflurane, and advanced surgical equipment, our veterinarians can perform may elective and non-elective surgical services while ensuring your pet’s safety and comfort.
